Apple Standard EULA is the base license
Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement is incorporated into this iOS End User License Agreement by reference. You should read both documents. Together, Apple's Standard EULA and this supplement form the license governing your use of Mahjong Trainer on iOS and iPadOS.
If this supplement conflicts with Apple's Standard EULA, Apple's Standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict. Nothing in this supplement limits rights or obligations that cannot be limited under applicable law or Apple's required App Store terms.
Provider and licensed application
Mahjong Trainer is provided and licensed by Cedar Theory LLC. The licensed application is the educational American Mahjong trainer named Mahjong Trainer, with bundle identifier com.cedar.mahjongtrainer.
Cedar Theory LLC, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content, subject to the responsibilities assigned to Apple in Apple's Standard EULA and other applicable Apple terms.
License and permitted use
Subject to Apple's Standard EULA, this supplement, and the iOS Terms of Use, Cedar Theory LLC grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Mahjong Trainer on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Family Sharing or similar use is permitted only when and to the extent allowed by Apple.
The app is licensed, not sold. No ownership interest in Mahjong Trainer or its content transfers to you.
Auto-renewable subscriptions
Optional premium access is offered through StoreKit using these auto-renewable subscription product identifiers:
- Monthly: mahjongtrainer.subscriptions.monthly
- Annual: mahjongtrainer.subscriptions.annual
The monthly subscription may display a 7-day free trial only when Apple confirms that your Apple Account is eligible for that introductory offer. The annual subscription has no trial unless Apple specifically reports and displays an available offer to you before purchase. The price, currency, billing period, and any eligible offer are displayed in the app before confirmation.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Each subscription renews automatically for the same billing period unless canceled in accordance with Apple's subscription terms. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore an eligible subscription associated with your Apple Account. Apple processes billing and refund requests under its policies. Additional purchase, renewal, cancellation, restoration, and refund terms appear in the iOS Terms of Use.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- Copy, redistribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app or its content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code except where applicable law expressly permits it
- Circumvent subscription verification, access controls, usage limits, or security features
- Interfere with the app, StoreKit, the App Store, or another person's use of the app
- Use the app for unlawful or fraudulent activity
Educational purpose
Mahjong Trainer is an educational practice tool for American Mahjong. Rules, card interpretations, conventions, and rulings may vary by league, publication, year, table, or tournament. The app does not guarantee that every lesson, answer, or practice result will match a particular organizer's current rules.
You are responsible for checking the official rules that apply to your game. The app is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or any mahjong league unless expressly stated otherwise.
Intellectual property
Mahjong Trainer, including its software, design, text, lessons, graphics, audiovisual material, and branding, is owned by Cedar Theory LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners. No license to use Cedar Theory LLC's or a third party's trademarks is granted by this agreement.
Privacy and device features
Mahjong Trainer does not require an account, include advertising, or track you across apps or websites. Learning progress and preferences are stored locally on your device. If you enable reminder notifications, the app requests notification permission and schedules reminders locally.
StoreKit processes subscription purchases and provides the app with product and transaction information needed to offer, verify, and restore access. See the iOS Privacy Policy for details.
Availability and disclaimers
Cedar Theory LLC may maintain, update, modify, suspend, or discontinue app features. To the fullest extent permitted by law, and in addition to the disclaimers in Apple's Standard EULA, the app and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or compatibility with every device or future operating system.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cedar Theory LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing here excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Termination
This license remains effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you materially violate Apple's Standard EULA or this supplement. Upon termination, you must stop using and delete the app. Subscription cancellation and license termination are separate: canceling a subscription ends future renewal but does not itself terminate the app license, and deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain effective, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and accrued payment obligations.
Changes to this supplement
Cedar Theory LLC may update this supplement to reflect changes to the app, subscriptions, Apple requirements, or applicable law. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Changes do not alter Apple's Standard EULA.
